Trieste Port Authority D'Agostino, 'crucial initiative'

(ANSA) - BLED, SEP 2 - Cooperation in the Northern Adriatic Sea between Italy, Slovenia, and Croatia is growing thanks to three pillars: connectivity, sustainable blue economy, and environmental protection.

Nine months after the Trieste meeting, the definition of Exclusive Economic Zones is moving in the right direction, as established by the joint declaration of last April. That emerged during the discussion between the Foreign Ministers of Slovenia and Croatia on the second and final day of the Bled Strategic Forum.

"Cooperation in the Northern Adriatic Sea is crucial to be competitive on a global scale. To do that, we need to invest in development, technology, and common dialogue platforms such as Napa, the North Adriatic Ports Association". Zeno D'Agostino, president of the Trieste Port Authority, said at the Strategic Forum in Bled, Slovenia. He also pointed out that the challenges of climate change are an opportunity to be seized to develop joint projects. (ANSA).
