Covid: Omicron leads to hotels closures in Austrian Tyrol
Outbreaks in some ski schools, tomorrow government's decision
04 January, 16:45 (ANSA) - BOLZANO, JAN 4 - Due to the Omicron variant and the
consequent lack of personnel in Tyrol, some hotels and mountain
lodges have already closed, for example in Soelden, a well-known
ski resort in Austria and a traditional stage at the beginning
of the season for the Ski World Cup.
The virus spreads especially in the residences of tourist staff.
In Sankt Anton and Kirchberg, outbreaks occurred among the ski instructors. For this reason, the state of Tyrol is pushing for the booster administration for ski instructors, especially foreign ones, who often only have the second dose. The local authorities strongly recommended the '2G+' (enhanced green, and negative swab test) for ski instructors. (ANSA).
