Naples puts out ad for youngsters to help elderly browse Web

Chance to help bridge digital divide says southern city

(ANSA) - ROME, AUG 8 - Naples city council has put out an ad for 15 young people between the ages of 18 and 28 to help the elderly and others with difficulties to browse the Web and use Internet apps.
Those who qualify will work as "digital assistants" for a year, it said.
The aim, it said, is to "help adults in conditions of difficulty to orient themselves and connect in a safe and physiological way with an increasingly digital reality".
They will help municipal workers "activate and manage platforms that can implement activities in a digital format".
Youth and Employment Councillor Chiara Marciani said "we want to give our city's young men and woman an opportunity and at the same time try to close the current gap in digital competency,.
as foreseen by the (massive EU funded post COVID) National Recovery and Resilence Plan (NRRP)." (ANSA).
